The rebate is paid to the buyer from the commission that the seller pays the buyer’s agent.
If the seller is offering a 3% commission to the buyer’s agent on a $300,000 sale, a 50 % commission rebate would put $4500 back in the buyer’s pocket. On a $500,000 property that could amount to a $7500 rebate.
